BOARD OF DIRECTORS 2015  


Joyce Blanker, originally from Wilbraham, MA, obtained a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College, an M.B.A. and an M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts.  She has worked in the fields of banking, manufacturing and education. She is a realtor with Cohn & Company Real Estate.   She and her husband, Alan, live in Greenfield and have two daughters who attended the Greenfield public schools.
Rob Cohn graduated from Greenfield High School in 1966. He attended Greenfield Community College and graduated from the University of Denver in 1973. He has worked in the real estate and insurance business ever since at Cohn & Company in Greenfield.  Rob served as the President of the Greenfield Community College Foundation and presently is an honorary member of the board. He is a past Chair of the Bement School Board of Directors, and is currently a board member of Greenfield Savings bank, Baystate Health Foundation, Greenfield Community College, and is active at the Clarke School for the Deaf in Northampton.  For over 35 years Rob has supported or chaired fundraising campaigns of the United Way of Franklin County, Baystate Franklin Medical Center and many other non-profit organizations.  Rob and his wife, Mary Cohn, reside in Greenfield and have two college age sons.
Mark Donoghue is the owner of Taylor's Tavern and Donoghue Realty in Greenfield.  He has two grown children who were Greenfield High School graduates and he was a member of the class of 1972.  Mark attended Dartmouth College before graduating from the University of Massachusetts.  He is a CPA and a director of the Greenfield Savings Bank.  He likes to exercise and fly his airplane.  He currently lives in Greenfield with his wife Nancy and his two golden retrievers Reggie and Wallace.
Rich Fahey is a native of Greenfield and a graduate of Greenfield High School.  After graduating from Bowling Green (Ohio) State University, he returned to Greenfield.  Rich and his wife Kathie have a son, daughter and two granddaughters, all living in Franklin County.  Rich is employed by the Greenfield Recorder as the Director of Advertising.  He has been active in several local organizations, sitting on many boards of directors and serving on numerous committees.  Rich became involved in the Greenfield Housing Authority in June of 2011 and currently serves as the board chairman.
Kriste Joy is a Branch Officer for Freedom Credit Union. She was educated in the Deerfield School System. After graduating from Frontier Regional School she attended Associated School of Travel & Tourism in Miami, Florida where she received a certificate. Kriste is currently a part-time student at Greenfield Community College- Isenberg School of Business Transfer Program. She is active in the local schools where she has started a Financial Literacy Program. She also meets with the seniors at the Franklin County Technical School and talks about lending and credit. Kriste is Treasurer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Franklin County. She is also treasurer for The Greenfield Business association. She lives in Greenfield with her husband Jason and two children Connor and Olivia who are both students in the Greenfield School system.
Ed "Butch" Margola is a Certified Public Accountant.  He has worked in private practice in Greenfield since 1973.  Born and raised in Greenfield, Butch attended Greenfield public schools and the University of Massachusetts.  He serves as a director on the Executive Board of Greenfield Savings Bank, and has been the treasurer of The Country Club of Greenfield for 30 years.  Butch is committed to excellence in education and eagerly supports his community in a variety of ways.  He is an avid golfer, fly-fisherman, furniture maker, and loves to “work out” at the YMCA.  He is a devoted dad of 3 wonderful daughters and grandfather to 4.  He lives in Gill with his wife and youngest daughter.
Bill Martin is a life-long resident of Greenfield.  After his election to the Town Council in 2004, he chaired the Appointments and Ordinance Committee, the Community Relations Committee and the Local Options Committee.  He was elected Mayor in 2008.  Bill is proud to be the first student in the School of Nursing to receive the Chancellor's Community Service Award from UMass in 1993. In 1997, he received the Veteran of the Year Award from the American Legion. He is the author of "VeteCare", a comprehensive state veterans care plan. In 1992, he received the Greenfield Community Access Television Producer Award for the production of a Veterans News program. Bill is married to Isabel Field, a retired Special Education Teacher, and resides at 125 Old Albany Road.  He has three children: Danielle, Catherine and Jarod and a granddaughter Cadence.
Nancy Putnam is currently the Interim Associate Principal at Federal Street School. She has been an employee of the Greenfield Public Schools for 39 years having been a Classroom Teacher and District Math Coordinator. Nancy has dedicated her entire career to the education of Greenfield children and is a firm believer in the Public schools. She and her husband Stephen are the parents of two daughters, Kate and Jillian. Both girls graduated from GHS having had very successful academic and athletic experiences.  Kate went on to UMass, Amherst and Jillian to Northwestern University in Chicago.  They both played field hockey while in college.
Susan Welenc is a 1976 graduate of the Greenfield High School, and a graduate of the Burbank Hospital School of Nursing in Fitchburg, MA.  She has volunteered for many organizations including the United Way, the YMCA and the Greenfield Public Schools.  She is a buyer in the baby department at Baystate Franklin Medical Center and a member of the BFA.  She is currently a board of director's member of the Country Club of Greenfield.  Susan and her husband Doug reside in Greenfield and have 3  grown children: Brianna, Elizabeth and Douglas.
Lukas Martin graduated from Greenfield High School in 2000 and then earned a B.A. in History from Harvard University in 2004. After a brief stint in the world of finance, he escaped to South America where he taught English at a public high school in Chile for a year. He then hiked his way around Patagonian Chile and Argentina as well as Bolivia and Peru before returning to Harvard to earn a Master’s in Education in 2010. He has taught English and/or History at the 8th Grade Academy at GHS for four years. He coaches the GMS Boys Basketball team and is the Advisor to the Class of 2016. A resident of Greenfield, Luke enjoys spending time with his newborn daughter, Eleanor, as well as hiking, traveling, and fly-fishing whenever possible.
